Maria Proestou presented the paper “The Bioeconomy State and its Role in Shaping Bioeconomy Discourses” at the workshop “The Sustainable State. Theoretical and Empirical Perspectives on Socio-Ecological Transformations of the State in Times of Compound Crises”, June 1-3 2023. The workshop was hosted by the central campus of the Leuphana University Lüneburg in Germany with the participation of the local School of Public Affairs and the School of Sustainability. The paper elaborates on the dimensions of the bioeconomy state and validates the diagnostic value of this state concept through the illustrative case of Germany.
