At this year’s Bioeconomy Economics Workshop in Passau, October 9-10, BIOPOLISTA team member Alexandra Gottinger presented her latest research on Germany’s bioeconomy policy evolution. In her paper, “Policy (un)learning for the Transition Towards a Sustainable Bioeconomy: The Case of Germany,” Ms. Gottingerquantifies changes within the German bioeconomy policy mix, which builds the starting point to identify and discuss indications of policy learning.
The workshop, organised by the Bioeconomy Economics Research Group, focused on the bioeconomy’s economic, social, and environmental impacts, with sessions on sustainable resource management, policy frameworks, and innovation pathways. The event served as a platform for discussing pressing issues and collaborative research in bioeconomy transitions, particularly the shift from non-renewable to renewable resources and its implications for both the Global North and South.
